The eglu cube extreme temperature is expensive at £99, but it does make me feel confident that my hens are warm enough in this bitterly cold weather we've had recently, thanks to it's additional insulation layer. It is not designed particularly well though because you have to unclip bungees as well as unzip the back to get access into the eggport, whereas the same jacket for the eglu classic was designed to provide really easy access.The bungee clips that hold it on interfere with the protective skirt around the base of the cube, and there should be a hole cut into it for the handle that needs to be pulled right out to open/close the cube's door. I have to tuck the jacket behind it. I think the design should be reconsidered.

Purchased after the bad weather at Christmas as noticed all girls squashing themselves in egg box to keep warm at night. Since putting it in, we've had freezing nights and snow. All girls seem happy and snuggle up together on roosting bars again. Very good design, fitting well and with the elastic clips and zip very sturdy and doesn't move, even in very strong winds. Would thoroughly recommend this product if you have an Eglu cube.

Very useful product in this very windy weather. I'm sure the hens appreciate it. Easy to access the side door with the zip fastening.

I am over the moon with this jacket for the eglu . It arrived just in time before some hard frosty nights and some awful gales. My girls were cosy and draught free throughout. Can highly recommend this would not be without it. Throughout all this the girls are still happily laying each day so they must be happy

Our cube is in quite an exposed garden and it does have a few gaps where the draughts can whistle through. I feel much more reassured now we have the extreme weather jacket covering the cube to completely stop all the draughts. It's like a big waterproof duvet that fits really snugly all the way round. Yes, you do have to unzip one zip and detach a couple of bungies to access the egg port but it's no great hardship. A really good investment.

Great, we were wondering what to put over the iglu if temperatures dipped significantly, this is perfect. Our ex-batt hens think they are in heaven!

Ive had the extreme temperature jacket on my eglu cube now for 2 winters and quite frankly wouldn't want to be without it. Yes it is a bit awkward to get to the nest box and to clean out but I think the positives out weigh the negatives so much. I have no worries about the girls in the extreme temperatures as it keeps them very cosy and warm and also during the celebrations of fireworks night and new year I feel happier that they are most probably somewhat less likely to be scared half to death and the jacket acts as a noise barrier. Hey Ive not been inside with them on these nights but its got to help. My girls lay all through winter and only stop through the moult so they must be happy. Thanks Omlet

Excellent purchase. Great for the winter ahead. Especially as here in Norfolk the temperatures drop considerably over night and stay low some days
