The construction of the Eglu Cube and run took me a lot longer than I expected. The most time consuming part was assembling the run section. Although the clips are very clever (and can be reused - which was good as I put the sides under the cube on the wrong way round so had to remove them and correct them!), I found that my hands were very sore at the end. I had a little problem with trying to put the side on where the door handle is as it didn't seem to fit because the front door handle was in the way, however I managed to solve this by pulling the door handle out and placing the hole over the handle. Now that the chickens have been living in the cube for a number of weeks, I am very happy with it. It is so easy to move and clean out. I have found that placing a sheet of newspaper on each dropping tray makes it easier to clear the droppings out. The only other comment I would make is that one of the hens, a white star, seems to have problems with the ladder when exiting the eglu and I think she injured herself. Looking at her her feet are a little smaller than our other hens, 2x black rcok and 1 x buff orpington. She seemed to slip when coming out of the door and trying to find the first run. She is ok now though as she just flies out and her limp has gone. Also love the accessories that came with the cube, the water drinker is very clever. thanks Stella

Because I live outside your chicken delivery area, I felt slightly agrieved that I also had to miss out on all the help and guidance offered to other customers and had to build the Eglu myself. However, the instructions were very straightforward and, despite having to erect the Eglu on uneven ground, an afternoon's work saw it up and ready. From your list I found a helpful breader less than an hour's drive away and, within 24hrs, had six assorted hens settled into their new luxury accommodation.

I have been thrilled with my Cube.....so much easier to care for and clean that my old wooden coop. Hoping to keep the red mites away! My only two neg comments are: 1. the nesting box is quite stiff to open, I wonder if my spring loaded handle is not 100% 2. I find it impossible to get to the back of the underneath part of the eglu in order to get hold of my very shy ex battery hen who doesnt know how to go home to roost in the evening! I would like an opening at the back of the pen as well as the front! the delivery was excellent and the gentleman very professional and helpful.

Because we were outside the delivery area the eglu cube was delivered by courier. All the bits were there and our 2 technicians took a couple of hours to assemble it. The technology workshop technician replaced some plastic brackets with brass ones he made specially..The ex-battery hens seem happy enough. We put some wood to help them up onto the ladder at first. An egg laid on the roosting surface dropped through and broke so perhaps the bars could be slightly closer together. It all looks easy to keep clean with no rough edges to scratch skin or clothes.

The Cube is so easy to clean, the delivery man was so helpful and full of information. My four girls love it, they go to bed every night with no trouble, along with two eggs on their first day.

We got our Eglu last year and it has been brilliant. They are not cheap, but I don't have to scrub or preserve roughsawn wood or worry about the kids getting splinters or poked by wire or nails. We have an extended run and thanks to sterling advice from the Omlet Club, have adapted the end so that we can step into the run by undoing one carabina. I would strongly advise anyone buying an Eglu (especially those new to Chooks like I was) to read the Omlet Club pages and call Omlet with any questions. Unfailingly polite and patient - great company!

I bought this to replace a wooden coop as I was having problems with mites, quite bad as it was making the feathers on my chickens drop off. After a couple of weeks they seem to be picking up and its definately cleaner and easier to clean, hopefully we will be bug free soon!! Would recommend highly

This is the replacement for our original super glug. On the first one the middle nipple kept boing pushed out by the chickens and all the water would drain away. Well, guess what? The same thing has happened on the second one. Poor quality.

After 3 years of the original eglu I upgraded to the cube. An excellent move - a safe height - simple to clean and no back ache for O.A.P.s. It is so easy to move even with a double run extension! My 4 chicks don't have to queue up to lay eggs and there is a spacious nesting area. The first night my nervous chicks huddled underneath it so I went in and put them up in their new bedroom and since then they love it hopping on and off the ladder with ease. It was assembled by a pleasant Omlet representative who ran through everything with me. When I first cleaned them out (so simple) and noticed that one of the trays under the perches did not 'click' into place I rang Omlet (excellent customer relations and help) who suggested I tried swapping them round and if no success they would send another one out -no need to as swapping them did the trick. This product is worth every penny - fox proof, easy to keep mite proof - nothing compares to it! Plus 4 Pepperpot chickens who have settled well and become very friendly.

Bought the cube to move the girls into from the Eglu. They haven't yet moved so this is based on building only. It was a PIG to put together. TWO HOURS? You have GOT to be joking. It was at least twice that with both of us working flat out and we had to resort to a hammer in the end. We were a washer short and the run didn't want to fit. The ladder was a nightmare because the holes didn't line up. One side piece really didn't want to fit flush and all I can say is that if that's how you keep draughts out the hens must like a lot of fresh air. The lid was awful because no matter how much you adjusted the runners the only way to engage the lid properly was to put it on backwards. It did eventually go together and I hope the girls will like it but they will have to be ecstatic about it for my husband to forgive it the trauma of its assembly!
