Bought the Eglu for 3 chicks which we hatched out from eggs at our school. They are now 9 weeks old and are very happy in it. It's easy to clean and we have been able to take it apart and take the chicks home at weekends.

Like many I debated for a long time before buying a Cube. We had a wooden coop for 2 years which did the job but I kept coming back to Eglu to read reviews and finally took the plunge and bought one. I am SO glad I did and question why I didn't get one in the first place! It is so easy to clean which is the absolute best bit for me - it used to take me an hour to clean the wooden one and we suffered with red mite on more than one occasion. Yes they are expensive but the resale value is excellent should I ever decide to stop keeping chickens - i know as I missed out on many ebay auctions for second hand ones! It looks good, is easy to use and the chickens seem very happy. The feeders are much better than the ones I used to use - the rain doesn't get in to the food and they hold lots of food so I can leave them overnight if necessary. I had a problem with my Grub which Omlet changed for me so I am impressed with both the product and the service. Would recommend!

Hello. I have quite a few Eglu's (different colours) which I use to house chickens that are for sale. Every single time I put POL hens into the Eglu, they always lay earlier than the ones (the same age) in the wooden coops. Sometimes the Eglu gang can lay as much as 2 weeks earlier! I also have fewer problems with hen pecking, and illness. The coops are easy to clean thoroughly, although the do look messier than the wooden coops, and it is harder to poo pick, it only takes 10 minutes to give them a really good clean, the girls don't even notice I'm doing it, as I just shut the door, and leave them secure in the run part. We have had a few fox visits in the last couple of weeks, and everyone in the wooden coops has been lost (thankfully it was not as many as we usually have) but although we saw paw prints on and around the Eglus, and a couple of marks on the bars, the only damage that was done to the Eglus was that one hook had been torn off the elastic holding the cover on. Poor foxy probably thought he'd hit gold when it came of, only to discover the bars underneath! So although they are more expensive than the wooden ones, it is all we will be using from now on! Keep up the good work Omlet! :-)

The feeder stand is ideal, I don't have an eglu yet but the stand works really well in my run.

Hi Overall a good product just one snag. Having read on other forums that the ladder is a bit short, this is what i have found also. Only having owned it a month i have had a chicken damage its leg and now stays outside. I have had to place a box at the bottom of the ladder to help her get onto the ladder. Maybe a modification to the ladder may be the answer. Other than that, i am very happy with it.

After much research we decided to go for the Eglu Cube, in the past we have always had wooden houses and runs and they are so heavy, they rot and are a nightmare to clean. We needed a house on wheels and a run as the girls cant come out because of the foxes and the dogs. The dogs are all gundogs so as far as they are concerned all birds must be retrieved! So the cube is a safe environment for them to be in and peck the dogs noses. We got the metre extension which has definitely been worth it. The cube is so easy to move and the girls get fresh grass everyday. Cleaning them out is now enjoyable and so easy to do. A few people have mentioned that their chickens have struggled with the ladder, mine had no problem and spend a lot of the day hopping on and off it, no problems going to bed and they pile out in the morning quite happily. I don't have any negatives about the cube, even though it was quite expensive, the fact it is so easy to clean and move makes up for the cost. A great design and wish we had discovered them sooner. I have very happy, clean girls producing an egg each a day and making our breakfasts so yummy!

Easy to order and quick to arrive. My chickens are now happily running round in an extra metre of run.

I am very pleased indeed with my purchase. It looks great in the garden and is a very sturdy and secure place for my chickens to live. I hesitated about buying the product when I saw the price but having done lots of research it became clear that this run is by far the best quality on the market. No sleepness nights for me worrying that the foxes are going to breach the defences! Take my advice......pay that little bit extra and have an 'Omlet' man put it together for you. A very nice man indeed put ours together, and it took him three hours. How long would it have taken for us to do the same job I wonder ?

I know this is expensive but it is so worth every penny. Previously we had the Eglu GO which is great, but since we wanted more hens (we now have 4) we went for the Elgu CUBE with the extension. Bit tricky to put together - didn't help that it was pouring with rain at the time and windy! We had to leave it and continue the next day as the roof didn't fit correctly. One of the pre-drilled bracket holes had been put in the wrong place it was too high by about quarter of an inch and meant the roof couldn't slide. However, my husband added a washer to make the sliding bracket fit better and it's now fine. All in all I would recommend the Cube to anyone - it really is so very easy to clean and the hens love it! Great that you can add the extension at a later date - as I do think that without it the Cube run looks really small.

I have had this clear cover for nearly two years now and as a protector from wind and rain it is excellent .....however!!!! I have to buy a new one as the local foxes have torn the bungees off and over the last three nights have decimated the cover. I will buy another clear for now and hope that they will leave it alone, as it is so good as a cover and I can still see the birds.
