I think these new clear covers are great and so do the chooks. They're much brighter and my girls stay out much longer. They keep them dry and I bought two so they cover the sides to and are real protection from wind. Excellent product. Have bought for my classic too.

This product is worth getting for periods of wet weather. However, due to its design you cannot use it to protect from wind down to chicken height and the higher side directs the run off into the run so there is still a big strip of wet.

Yes, it keeps the run dry and makes it lighter than a solid cover but it is impossible to see through it from the outside. The eyelets midway down each side are pulling away from the plastic, though they are not under strain. The corner ones have more pull on them and yet they are holding fine.

We bought this because our 3 chickens seemed a bit cramped in the standard run. They appear to enjoy the extra space, but there have been niggles. The original package was missing a roof panel (there should be 2 along with 2 side panels and a pack of clips). However a quick phone call sorted this out. It may also be worth noting that the extension is only 90cm long and not 1m. Not massive problems, but irritating nontheless.

We use this in combination with the waterproof cover (not the shade that came witrh the Go) as a dry "conservatory" during the typical ghastly wet British winter we are having. Does the job well so far.

The cover that comes with the Go is a sunshade - it will come apart in typical British weather. This one is much more robust and provides a good rain cover. We use it in conjunction with the transparent rain cover on an extended run - gives them a dry conservatory! The chickens seem happy enough, so we are too.

George from Omlet delivered my cube and walk in run extension today and did a brilliant job constructing it for me (it would have taken me a week). The chickens have gone to bed no trouble this evening altho I did have to put a wooden ramp up against the ladder to encourage them to bed. First impressions of the cube are that it's a great design - easy to clean out and easy to get at the eggs. George was a lovely man and the service was excellent - arrived first thing and spent about four hours constructing the house and walk in run. If you are getting the wir make sure your ground is level - mine wasn't so I've had to build up one end with some flags.

We started with a wooden house to see how we got on with keeping (4) chooks. After a matter of weeks we were hooked on the girls but less impressed with cleaning out their house. The cube duly arrived and 2 more girls will be joining them in their palace next week. The ease of being able to clean it out without bending down, kneeling in a poopy run and twisting into awkward positions to get into the house and scrub it out cannot be under-estimated. Muck comes straight off the plastic and it's dry in no time, unlike wood. We've cable-tied poles from the Omlet netting to the front of the run so we can access the pop hole and nesting box as well as clean out from outside the run and it works a treat.
